🌟 MKC Youth Day 2025 – Gumbuya World Adventure! 🌟


This past Sunday, the Melbourne Konkan Community (MKC) hosted its annual Youth Day Out, and what a memorable day it turned out to be!

A total of 38 enthusiastic youth and 7 dedicated volunteers set out to Gumbuya World, ready for a day filled with excitement, laughter, and connection. From the moment the gates opened at 11 AM, the group immersed themselves in all that the park had to offer – thrilling rides, interactive wildlife shows, and the beautiful Australian outback experience.

The energy and joy were infectious! 🎢🐨 Every ride brought laughter, every show sparked curiosity, and every shared moment created new bonds. At 4 PM, the group wrapped up the day with big smiles and lasting memories before heading home safely – thanks to the support of our incredible volunteers who drove and cared for the youth throughout the day.


Building Connections Beyond the Day

This year, our Youth Day saw even more participation than last time – growing from 26 attendees to 38. It’s heartening to see more and more young members eager to join, connect, and be part of our vibrant MKC family.


What makes this event special is not just the rides and adventure, but the friendships formed. Already, the youth have created a group chat where they continue to connect and are planning other activities together – and MKC is committed to supporting them in these initiatives.

Youth events like these don’t stand alone – they are part of a wider community effort. Many of our young members have also been coming together through basketball, soccer, cricket, and badminton meetups. These activities give them a chance to discover others with similar interests, build confidence, and create lifelong bonds.


A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteer drivers and helpers, who made sure everyone reached safely and enjoyed the day without a worry. Their generosity and time are what make such events possible.

And of course, to our amazing youth leaders, Rhea & Ethan, who continue to inspire and guide their peers in creating a stronger, connected youth community.

The MKC Youth Day is more than just a trip – it is a reminder of the strength of community, the joy of friendship, and the importance of nurturing our next generation.

A Successful Evening of Connections at Our First Singles Dating Event!

We are thrilled to share the success of our first-ever singles dating event, which took place recently at Duke of Wellington Pub in Melbourne CBD. It was an evening filled with laughter, conversation, and the beginning of many new friendships. Neel Carvalho, our fantastic MC for the evening, ensured everything ran smoothly, guiding participants through a variety of fun icebreaker games that kept everyone engaged and comfortable. From the moment our guests arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant, with everyone eager to mingle and make new connections. The event kicked off with an energetic round of  Two Truths and a Lie, where participants had the chance to share interesting facts about themselves and guess what was true.
