MKC Badminton Tournament: A Smash Hit!



The MKC Badminton Tournament was a resounding success! Held at the Altona Badminton Centre, the event saw an impressive turnout of over 100 participants. From kids under 12 to teens and adults, everyone brought their A-game, creating a day filled with competitive spirit and community bonding.



A Day to Remember


We kicked off early, and the courts buzzed with excitement all day. The air was filled with the sound of shuttlecocks being smashed and the cheers of enthusiastic supporters. The participants displayed remarkable skills and sportsmanship, making the tournament a thrilling experience for everyone involved.

I was born and raised in the city of Mumbai, with two brothers—an older and a younger one. Though I grew up in Mumbai, my family roots are in Mangalore. My father hails from the beautiful village of Yekkar, and my mother’s side is from Permude. Mangalore has always felt like home, and some of my most cherished memories are from the school holidays spent visiting my grandparents, extended family and cousins I got married in 2004 and, in 2006, my husband Jerry Fernandes and I moved to Melbourne. We are blessed with two wonderful daughters, Shania and Kiara. When it comes to hobbies, I love traveling—especially to places with mountains or scenic views.
