Today, we kick off our Know Your Committee series with a familiar and much-loved face in our community — Mr. Dolpey Pais. Friendly, hardworking, and always the first to help, Dolpey has been an active supporter of MKC for many years, and we are excited to have him on the 2025 committee!

🟣 Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
🟢 Dolpey: My name is Dolpey Pais, and I live in Truganina, Victoria. I love playing cricket, going hunting, and fishing. I strongly believe in helping others and staying connected with everyone.

🟣 Q: Where do your roots lie?
🟢 Dolpey: I am proudly from Balehonnur, in the Chickmagalur District.

🟣 Q: What’s your favourite dish?
🟢 Dolpey: Definitely pork chilly — nothing beats it!

🟣 Q: What inspired you to join MKC?
🟢 Dolpey: I joined MKC because I wanted to stay connected with our people, culture, and traditions. Being part of this community gives me a sense of belonging. It allows me to support others, contribute in meaningful ways, and grow together.
I truly believe that when we come together, we can celebrate our heritage, help one another, and make a positive difference.

In the spirit of recognizing and celebrating exceptional achievements within our community, the Melbourne Konkan Community (MKC) introduced the inaugural MKC Awards at this year's Monthi Fest. A Successful Evening of Connections at Our First Singles Dating Event!

We are thrilled to share the success of our first-ever singles dating event, which took place recently at Duke of Wellington Pub in Melbourne CBD. It was an evening filled with laughter, conversation, and the beginning of many new friendships. Neel Carvalho, our fantastic MC for the evening, ensured everything ran smoothly, guiding participants through a variety of fun icebreaker games that kept everyone engaged and comfortable. From the moment our guests arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant, with everyone eager to mingle and make new connections. The event kicked off with an energetic round of  Two Truths and a Lie, where participants had the chance to share interesting facts about themselves and guess what was true. This set the tone for the afternoon of open conversations and genuine connections.
