Historic Mango Cup Unites Mangalorean and Goan Communities in Melbourne

  The inaugural Mango Cup, a ground breaking event that brought together the Melbourne Konkan Community (MKC) and the Goan Overseas Association of Victoria (GOAV), took place on Sunday, February 18th, at Fairbairn Park in Ascot Vale. This first-ever collaboration between the two communities marked a significant moment of unity and celebration in Melbourne's cultural landscape.   The day dawned with perfect weather, setting the stage for an unforgettable gathering of families from both communities. It was heartwarming t witness the camaraderie and shared spirit as people came together to enjoy a day of sportsmanship and cultural exchange.   The event wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, who not only provided financial backing but also showed their dedication by attending the event in person. Fr Prakash Menezes installed as vicar-general of Darwin diocese, Australia

  Fr Prakash Brayan Menezes SVD, who is currently serving as the parish priest of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Alice Springs, was installed as the vicar-general of the Catholic diocese of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia on November 19. The installation ceremony was led by Charles Victor Emmanuel Gauci, bishop of the Catholic diocese of Darwin and the Northern Territory in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Alice Springs.   Fr Prakash who hails from Shirva, Udupi district had completed his SVD formation at Melbourne’s Dorish Maru College in 2014. Ever since, he has been assigned Central Australia for his mission. I did my primary education from St Joseph Primary school Taccode went to Adarsh High School Taccode for my high school education, Completed my Pre Univerty education Jain Junior college in Moodbidri and then moved to Mumbai for my technical education and then did my B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Bits Pilani Dubai. I love sports and enjoy playing cricket, badminton, and chess. During my free time, I like to explore my skills in cooking and spend time with family and friends.
