In the spirit of recognizing and celebrating exceptional achievements within our community, the Melbourne Konkan Community (MKC) introduced the inaugural MKC Awards at this year's Monthi Fest. These awards aim to applaud and honor individuals who have not only excelled in their respective fields but have also made a significant impact on our community. In 2023, we are thrilled to have honored two outstanding individuals: Mira D'Silva and Nadine D'Silva. Mira D'Silva: A Trailblazer in Leadership Mira D'Silva's journey is nothing short of inspirational. Armed with a Master of Human Resources, she ventured to Melbourne in 2004. In 2006, she co-founded Delivery Centric, a highly regarded IT consulting services organization, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to business excellence. Melbourne Konkans celebrate Nativity feast with fervour and grandeur!

The Victorian south-east suburb of Aspendale, was once again the hub for Melbourne Konkan Community’s Nativity festivities this year. The St Louis de Montfort’s School Hall in this bayside suburb regaled with an audience of 750 plus with their ‘traditional best’ breaking all previous records with the gigantic hall filled to its capacity for the marathon celebrations that lasted seven hours. The afternoon commenced with a heartwarming veneration to Mother Mary as hundreds of children offered flowers with the rendition of evergreen hymn - ‘Sakkad Sangatha Melyan, Sakkad Lagi Saryan; Amche Tale Ek Karyan, Moryek Hogolsiya’ by the choir. The celebrations were led by the priests Fr Prakash Menezes and Fr Jacob Alvares. The main celebrant, Fr.
